holiday gift guide 2016 | social justice edition

It may seem super early in the year to put out a gift guide, but America's had a rough week. I think we deserve some holiday cheer in the form of Starbucks red cups and gift guides to get us in the mood for shopping for loved ones this holiday season. Last year, I posted a couple of holiday gift guides with different themes and this year, the first theme I have is "social justice." Since there is now a white (orange?) supremacist on his way to the White House, a lot of your friends, family, and fellow Americans may have some of their rights at risk. Take this opportunity to give back to your communities and the world by giving to organizations that can help the environment and people with their rights and basic needs. The products in this gift guide are from companies that are either ethically responsible, give back to the community in some way, or are dedicated to solving some sort of problem facing the US or the world. I've also included a list of organizations that you can donate to in someone else's honor if you feel that it's the best way to give an impactful gift.
