holiday gift guide 2016 | men's edition
All I want for Christmas is world peace, a Birkin, and for Hamilton Electors to prevent an unfit and unstable man from being elected President of the United States... but if I can't have that, I'll take "an easy way to shop for gifts for men." Men are notoriously hard to shop for. I finally ordered gifts for Gerome on Monday evening only to be one-upped by him with a really sweet early Christmas date he planned for Tuesday evening. Even though I'm done with Christmas shopping for Gerome, our anniversary is next month so gift giving for my man is still very much on my mind. If you're having difficulties shopping for your boyfriend, husband, brother, father, or other dudes in your life, I hope this gift guide helps you out a little. Of course, take these suggestions with a grain of salt since men can be fickle and so much harder to please in the gift department than women. Happy shopping!
If you're willing and able to splurge, you can't go wrong with a super warm and cozy Canada Goose down jacket, especially if you live somewhere that is as cold as Boston (or are going on vacation somewhere cold).
If your man wants to get into grooming with better products, give him this set of Kiehl's products. Someone like Gerome wouldn't want or need this, since he somehow has achieved perfectly soft skin with just soap and water.
Adidas is a sneaker brand that everyone loves so you can easily put a smile on your man's face with a classic pair of Superstars. Even if they already have them, a backup pair is totally necessary in a guys' wardrobe.
There are very few accessories cooler than a dark monochrome watch. You don't have to get your man a Rolex to get him a sleek accessory - just look for simple and classic designs so men can coordinate them with their outfits.
Even if your guy doesn't wear ties to work, it's always helpful for men to have a large selection of ties to choose from when the occasion does arise that they need to wear one. Ties with subtle patterns can make a great gift.
This is the kind of jacket that could look good on anyone from your little brother in high school to your hip old grandpa. It's a sleeker version of this year's tried-and-true bomber jacket, so it will definitely be worn a lot.
Unless you're married to Tom Brady, chances are your man would never buy himself UGGs. Once you gift them these fluffy driving loafers, they will probably realize the error of their ways and start stealing your UGGs too.
If the man in your life travels a lot, an update to his travel bag of choice would be a much-appreciated present. Guys tend to pick out pretty boring-looking luggage, but the vintage aesthetic of this bag is very beautiful.
This is one of those gifts that you secretly hope the recipient isn't that into so that you can borrow it from them on the days that they aren't wearing it. The design is iconic and Burberry's cashmere scarves are just sooo soft.
Men generally like things that are ultra-functional to make their lives easier, so this wallet would be perfect. In addition to its interior pockets and card slots, it also has a magnetic money clip on the front for extra convenience.
