off the shoulder obsession

No matter how hard I try, I can't get over off-the-shoulder tops. During spring, I especially like wearing long-sleeve off-the-shoulder tops since they keep most of you warm but still let you feel the sun. This post showcases one of my recent favorite outfits, with the highlight piece being one of my new off-the-shoulder tops. Keep reading until the end for my full outfit detail links and some other off-the-shoulder tops I'm loving for spring and summer! Enjoy the post 😘

I got this off-the-shoulder top at Bloomingdale's from their brand Aqua, in the 100% Bloomingdale's Exclusive line. It caught my eye because of the subtle black striping on the crisp white fabric. It has a stretchy smocked top and kind of big, almost poofy sleeves that taper to a long buttoned cuff. I really liked how the cuffs and the subtle striping are juxtaposed with the off-the-shoulder and voluminous silhouette of the top so it was definitely something I wanted to add to my wardrobe.

I'm really short so I know that a big light colored top with so much volume like this could overwhelm my figure. Thankfully, there's a slight high-low hem so it's shorter in the front. I still wanted to make sure the rest of my outfit was sleek and lengthening, so I paired the top with my leather leggings as well as platform booties. I really like how the leather leggings and the leather booties kind of mesh together and make my legs look extra long - it helps balance out how wide the top is on my small body.

I really like how flowy this top is. I get major foodbabies every time I eat (it's gotten better since cutting gluten out of my diet, but it still happens) so I appreciate shirts that can hide my stomach. I think shoulders are a really beautiful part of the body to expose - even if you're insecure about exposing other parts of your body, shoulders are an easy and non-scary way to bare some skin as the weather gets a bit warmer. If you're looking for a new easy-to-style but fun piece to add to your spring/summer wardrobe, I would highly recommend an off-the-shoulder top like this Aqua one πŸ˜Š

I love all the off-the-shoulder tops above, so if the one I'm wearing isn't quite your style (or you just want to stock up on more), I highly recommend these different silhouettes and patterns. Off-the-shoulder tops are really easy to dress up and dress down for different days and occasions during the warmer months, so it's not a bad idea to have a couple of these in your wardrobe. Which one is your favorite top?

That's it for this outfit post! How do you feel about off-the-shoulder tops - are they a staple in your wardrobe or an overdone trend? For my ladies who work in more casual offices, would you ever wear one of these kinds of tops at work? Let me know in the comments! I hope you enjoyed this post!
