Hello lovelies! I’m back and this time I have a beauty post for you! I’ve been super busy with work and life as usual but I recently took the time to change the look of my blog (let me know what you think of my new theme in the comments!) so I figured it was time to post again. I have recently acquired a handful of new and affordable beauty items (and restocked some old favorites) that I really love, so keep reading to see what products I’ve been obsessing over lately!
Julep Bombshell Nail Colors in Cassidy and Kayla $14 xx
I tried out the popular Julep Maven subscription box and I got two nail colors from the Bombshell collection in my welcome box. Maven is Julep’s personalized beauty subscription program so for $19.99 to $39.99 you can get a box of nail polish and other beauty items every month. You can try it before you commit to Maven so my welcome box was actually free! Cassidy is a really pretty teal with a creme finish, and the formula is thick so you only need one coat. Kayla is a gorgeous purple with a frosty pearly purple and since it’s more sheer you can build the color up as much as you want. Both are perfect summer nail colors.
Julep It’s Balm Plush Pout Lip Crayons in Flamingo Pink and Magenta Plum $20 x
My box also came with two super pigmented lip crayons. There is a moisturizing balm in the core of the lip crayons so it feels really great applying them on your lips. The Flamingo Pink is like seriously pink - think Nicki Minaj x Barbie pink. I haven’t worn it out in public yet but if bright bold lip colors are your thing, this is for you. I love the Magenta Plum one and highly recommend wearing it over a berry colored lip crayon for a deep and vampy purple lip. I did cancel my Maven subscription because there were issues with shipping and that headache plus the pricey monthly cost made it less appealing for me. Otherwise, it’s a good deal for makeup and you can buy Julep products without subscribing to Maven.
Lime Crime Velvetine Matte Lipstick in Cashmere $20 x
This was probably the product I was most excited to get since I’ve been lusting over it forever. It’s the famed Lime Crime Velvetine Matte Lipstick in the cult favorite “greige” shade, Cashmere. I had been planning on getting the new shade Bleached because it seemed more wearable and I never go too crazy with my lip colors, but I was feeling adventurous and decided to get Cashmere instead. I love it and am obsessed with its liquid to matte formula. I now have personal proof that this grey/beige looks pretty on just about anyone’s lips. I have all my new lip colors swatched on my arm below but follow my Instagram @disisyna and hopefully you’ll see what they look like on my lips soon.
Everyone loves swatches - Flamingo Pink and Magenta Plum by Julep followed by Cashmere by Lime Crime! I have a tan/olive Filipino complexion and am a bit darker since it’s the summer and these colors still look great on me. Notice the fainter line down the middle of the Julep lip crayons - that’s the moisturizing balm. And oops, I took the picture literally seconds before the Lime Crime Velvetine fully dried so it looks more matte than that when you actually wear it.
This is my ride or die. My brows are not always on fleek (mainly because I hate that word) but when they are I most likely used this baby on them. I’ve probably mentioned the Perfect Brow Pencil or Anastasia Beverly Hills in general before on this blog because they’re amazing for shaping and taming and filling in your brows. You can create really natural looking brows or really intense looking brows with this pencil. I prefer this over Brow Wiz just because there’s more product and I also handle this better but next on my to-try list is the DIPBROW Pomade.
My beloved Givenchy Noir Couture 4 in 1 Waterproof Mascara was finally drying up so I decided it was time for a replacement. I liked the bumpy wand of that mascara so I decided to go for something similar since I have so few lashes that it’s important that my mascara reaches every last one. Better Than Sex has an hourglass shaped wand and a really intense volumizing and curling formula. At first I hated it since it looked clumpy but I tried it again with a lighter, more careful hand and now I love how it makes my lashes look so much fuller.
I ran out of my trusted Clinique Liquid Facial Soap in the Oily Skin Formula and shortly thereafter my t-zone started breaking out so I ran to Sephora for a refill. It’s a very gentle cleanser and I like it since it isn’t harsh on my skin at all and my face always feels clean and refreshed after washing it with this. I use it as the first step in Clinique’s 3-Step Skin Care System for combination skin, and follow it up with Clarifying Lotion 3 and Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel.
That’s it for my current beauty faves! Do you love any of these products as much as I do? Do you have your own beauty recommendations to share? Talk to me down in the comments! Thanks for reading my blog - come back soon ♥
