July Haul

Hey lovelies, happy August! I’ve been busy with work and catching up with people lately (especially my closest yet most elusive friend; sleep) so apologies for not being able to post anything besides photos from my Instagram! I have been wanting to do a collective clothing haul post of some of the things I’ve shopped for this past month. Obviously, one of my favorite things to do in my free time is shop and while I haven’t gone on any crazy shopping trips lately I have picked up some things here and there whenever I’m able to go downtown after work or during the weekend. I should really try to be more adventurous but if I’m not at home or at work I’m probably somewhere along Newbury Street or in the Prudential Center or Copley Place. July’s one of the best months to hit up amazing summer sales so I’ve gotten a bunch of pieces to add to my work, summer, and back-to-school wardrobes. Here are a few of my finds! Brandy Melville Everyone seems to be obsessed with Brandy Melville and I have to admit that I am too. Everything in that store is just so adorable and basic (in every sense of the word) that I just have to have it all. I’d been debating whether or not to get these two pieces since they’re not the most functional items to wear if you’re not going to music festivals every weekend but eventually I caved. The strappy bralet is super cute and perfect for wearing with anything with a low back and the shorts are so fun and soft and flippy. Shop Brandy Melville Chiyo Top >> Shop Brandy Melville Vodi Shorts >> Madewell I absolutely love Madewell. Any time I’m in town with my boyfriend and we’re anywhere near it he just goes “Madewell?” and I’m already pulling him toward the store. I had been wanting a slouchy linen tee and found this one and immediately knew I had to have it (summer sale + extra discount + student discount = instant buy). Shop Madewell Banded Tee in Courtstripe >> Banana Republic I’m not usually one to wear prints past basic stripes, polka dots, and plaid but I’m really trying to inject more prints into my wardrobe so I got this super cute shirt. I absolutely love the teal color and the fun zebra print (plus it was 50% off so I just couldn’t resist). This is also a perfect day to night transition top! Shop Banana Republic Blouses & Shirts >> J.Crew Crisp button down shirts become a staple when you work in an office 9-to-5. I found this one in a really pretty light lavender pinstripe at a J.Crew outlet store and fell in love. I should have gotten it in more colors but I’m also trying to practice something called self-control… Shop J.Crew Classic Shirts >> LOFT My office, like most offices, is pretty chilly with the AC turned up high in the summer. I’m especially sensitive to the cold so I couldn’t help but get a new light sweater to wear to work. I don’t think I have any v-neck sweaters like this so this is gonna be a useful piece to have for layering in the fall. Shop LOFT Sweaters >> Zara One of my friends (a recent alumna who I already miss dearly) came back to visit Boston last week and stayed at my place. On our way to Sunday brunch at Sonsie, she started talking about how I’d introduced her and another friend to the wonderful world of chambray shirts. At which point I sadly realized I didn’t actually own one yet… but then I found the perfect one at Zara that same day :) Shop Zara TRF Tops >> H&M Whenever I walk into H&M I always get extremely flustered because there are so many pretty things for amazingly low prices. In the spirit of adding more color and prints to my wardrobe I got this really fun tropical sleeveless top. I also grabbed a pack of really inexpensive but classy-looking earrings since I somehow keep losing all of my earrings :( Shop H&M Shirts & Blouses >> Shop H&M Earrings >> Nordstrom Rack Nordstrom Rack is always a fun place to shop since everything is deeply discounted and the last time I went I spent hours finding things, trying them on, falling in love, and then narrowing it all down for the sake of my wallet. I ended up getting this Elodie ruffled floral blouse that looks really cute when paired with dark denim shorts. Shop Nordstrom Rack Elodie Tops >> That’s it for my collective clothing haul for July! It’s not much but I’m more of a quality over quantity kind of girl (and most of my “shopping trips” are trips to Wegmans yay grocery shopping). It’s pretty important to me to get versatile pieces that work with different kinds of outfits - I aspire to have a French wardrobe kind of lifestyle. What clothing items have you guys been shopping for lately? Let me know in the comments! I also failed and told you guys I would post this Friday but then I got distracted by the stresses of packing for a weekend away at Cape Cod, so to make up for it here are a few photos from my little trip: Saw lots of adorable seals in the water at Chatham Pier. I never pass up an opportunity to eat fish and chips. We got way too excited over Cookie Monster ice cream that was actually blue. Cloudy skies didn’t stop our walks along the beach. To wrap up this post - a big congratulations to Lan Tran, the winner of my first anniversary giveaway in collaboration with GhinesCreations.
