Today was a pretty exciting day because a) I actually woke up early at 7am for once and b) I went to the lululemon warehouse sale! I had pretty much given up on the idea of going because suffering through long lines is not my fave thing in the world, but my boyfriend said he was willing to go with me at 8am (after our late night out at Brahmin, no less) so off we went to Hynes Convention Center. Pumpkin spice latte in hand - I had to be my most authentic, basic self for this sale - we braved the long line for what was promised to be an epic sale. Keep reading to see how the sale was and if I think it’s worth it to go tomorrow!
The line was admittedly rough. We got there around 8:30 am and we waited until about 9:50 am. There’s one hall which is just for the line and then they let people go in groups of 100 to go to another smaller line just outside the hall where the sale takes place. Waiting in line isn’t too bad though if you’re with a friend, have a book, or decide to do some workouts with the lululemon staff. According to the sale’s twitter the wait was only 10-15 minutes at some points.
Inside the sale was crazy. Piles of discarded clothing littered tables and the floor but it was otherwise pretty well organized. Everything was divided into womens, mens, and ivivva (lululemon’s children’s brand) and then further into sizes. The size 2′s were kind of lacking when I was there but all the other racks seemed pretty full. The staff would roll out new product every once and a while, and they have been continuously restocking every day with the goal of selling out. Lots of misplaced sizes but if you look hard enough you’ll be sure to find what you want. There were also tables with boxes overflowing with accessories.
The product selection itself was pretty interesting. You won’t find your basic black wunder under pant but there are lots of things in different prints and styles. They’re things you might have passed on before at full price but at these lower prices they’re definitely more worth it. The prices were pretty good if you’re already someone who is willing to invest a little in your workout gear. Everything was priced at about half off and throughout the sale they’re having timed buy one get one free sales on everything from hats to outerwear.
I came out of the sale with just one thing - a super cute wake & flow camisole. It’s supposed to be worn to sleep and during yoga but I’ll totally be wearing it out too, probably styled with a lacy bra underneath. Had I shopped less earlier this weekend (oops), I probably would have also grabbed a hooded wrap and a cocoon car coat. I was tempted to get a bunch of random accessories since they were so cheap but I resisted. Make sure not to buy things just for the sake of the sale! If you don’t love something yourself, think of people you want to give gifts to, and if there isn’t anyone, slowly put it down and walk away.
Overall, I recommend trying to stop by if you have time this weekend and love lululemon’s yoga and workout gear! The sale is going on until tomorrow, 8pm on Sunday the 18th. It’s a fun shopping environment and you save a lot on otherwise super expensive gear. If you’re not too crazy about spending money on athleisure or don’t care to look cute while working out, just stay home or go to the Head of the Charles Regatta, which is also happening this weekend.
Just a warning - don’t piss off fellow shoppers. There is an actual boxing ring and I heard an angry yogi threaten to punch another girl’s face (probably for snatching the last of something she wanted in her size lol). Good luck and happy shopping, Boston babes! Thanks for reading and come back soon ♥
