Primark ❤ Boston
Hey lovelies! Last week, UK-based Primark made its US debut with a massive store in Boston’s Downtown Crossing and I had the opportunity to attend a pre-opening party hosted by Refinery29 (featuring a performance by Tinashe!) for fashion bloggers and influencers. I had been very excited for the store since I’ve heard so much about the British high street brand but I didn’t grasp how amazing the cheap chic brand was until I finally walked through its doors.
Primark is a fast fashion brand much like Zara and H&M but with incredibly cheap prices that don’t sacrifice quality. According to analysts at Bernstein Research, Primark’s prices are “about 20 per cent below Forever 21, 33 per cent below Old Navy and close to 40 per cent below H&M.” Primark stocks so many cute and on-trend pieces at fantastically low prices on a daily basis. Walking through the bright, four floor store at 10 Summer Street, you can find camel coats for a mere $32, Chelsea boots for $13, and skinny jeans for $10.
The brand isn’t very well known in the US but with Primark planning to open many more stores throughout the US, it will definitely soon be a household name. Along with the large womens department they also have mens, kids, beauty, and housewares items. Refinery29′s party was really exciting but it will probably have been the easiest time I will ever have had to shop at the store. Be prepared for long lines at the tills and fitting rooms as well as your size to be out of stock - but they restock daily so keep checking if you really love an item!
Refinery29′s Club Primania was so fun that I forgot to take any real photos besides the ones that made it to my Snapchat story. I dragged along my boyfriend as my +1 and while he was apprehensive as one of the few guys waiting in line, he quickly got over it once we walked in, were handed $50 gift cards, and were ushered to an open bar. While it was a bit hard to focus on shopping with the giddiness supplied by bottomless glasses of Chardonnay, we both came out with great hauls. A few of the things we got were a $21 jacket for him and an $8 blouse and $5 shorts for me (plus a lot more but their site doesn’t list all their products). I’ll probably do a haul post soon once I shop there again!
I hope all of you get a chance to shop at the absurdly inexpensive and amazing Primark, whether in Boston or whenever a store near you opens (hint: the next one is coming to Philadelphia)! Thanks for reading my blog - come back soon ♥
