nordstrom anniversary sale guide 2019
It’s hereeeee! The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is back, and if you don’t know what it is yet, it’s Nordstrom’s big summer sale where you can buy new things for the fall season at a discounted price. This is so much better than other sales because these things aren’t things that have been picked through on a clearance rack or unwearable because they’re last season’s trends — these are all new items (either completely brand new or re-released from previous Anniversary sales) so you can stock up your autumn/winter wardrobe. Some things are even great for the summer, so you can fill up your vacation wardrobe! Last week, early access for Nordstrom cardholders and big spenders started, but for the rest of us, we can shop the sale starting this Friday, July 19. After the sale ends August 5, the prices of everything will go up again :( Since this sale can get overwhelming (so many pretty thingsss), in this blog post I’m listing my wishlist items from this sale to help you shop through the best of the best. Everything in this post is either something similar to what I’ve purchased in the past, something I want to get, or something from a brand I love. I’ll also be going in depth into a few standout items. This post is mainly women’s items, but I’ve asked Gerome to contribute a few menswear picks too! Enjoy shopping the Nordstrom anniversary sale!
Coats & Jackets
I tried this jacket on in-store and loved the fit - it’s such a quintessential New England preppy jacket (and y’all know I get majorly preppy when fall hits) so it’s definitely one of my favorite outerwear pieces from the sale.
I love tweed and always like to pick up a couple new tweed pieces every time autumn starts, so this was definitely on my radar the moment I saw the catalog. It’s such a fun jacket but looks like it would be easy to style in a lot of different outfits.
This dress is so beautiful and romantic AND it has the most gorgeous pleated skirt (I am obsessed with pleated skirts right now). The dark florals makes this the perfect autumn wedding guest dress or just a super fancy date night dress.
This is something super cute and appropriate for work but also brunch — I love something that screams “low cost per wear!”
Skirts & Pants
I’m recommending this because I’ve had a BLANKNYC suede jacket for years and love it and the suede is such good quality. It would probably be too much if I wore the jacket and skirt all at once but maybe that’ll be a trendy look soon…
This made it onto my wishlist because Tom Holland wore plaid pants on the Spider-Man: Far From Home press tour and looked GR8. You and I probably will not look as great as him (he was styled by inimitable Law Roach) but we sure can try.
If you know anything about the #nsale, you’ve probably heard about this Barefoot Dreams cardigan. I don’t have one yet because it always sells out quickly in my size, but I’ve felt it in store and it’s SO SOFT. If you love soft clothing, this is the sale item for you.
Topshop has a lot of great options in this sale, but this sweater is one of my favorites. I love the color combo and the texture is divine. You could pair this with dark skinnies and tan booties and have an outfit you won’t get tired of repeating.
Tie neck blouses are definitely a favorite of mine (aka my whole entire work wardrobe), and the contrast piping on this blouse is adorable.
For a more low-key work blouse, this is a really nice quality blouse that comes in a lot of colors/patterns and petites sizing — which is important because of the sleeves. If you’re petite like me, regular size shirts can sometimes have stupidly long arms.
This past fall and winter (and spring, and even a few days this summer lol what is weather) I lived in my Blondo booties. They’re super comfy and waterproof without being clunky, which is super practical when you live in a place like Boston.
These are my dream shoes and would look so so good paired with a cute little mini skirt and a leather jacket. I don’t think you can find anyone anywhere who doesn’t like SW shoes — they’re really good quality and super wearable.
I’ve been rocking Longchamp Le Pliage totes since high school — they’re such good workhorse bags that can fit so much inside, and this fully leather version is definitely an elevated version of the classic nylon totes I know and love.
My wrists have been feeling pretty bare lately so I’ve been looking to add more bracelets to my collection. This bracelet from Kendra Scott is very delicate and dainty but just enough glitz for me. Stacking a couple of these would look so pretty!
I’m not allowed to burn candles in my apartment so I’ve gotten into using diffusers for my home scents. These ones from NEST smell fantastic and having just one of them open is perfect for small city space living.
I love YSL lippies and personally think they make really great gifts because the packaging is so luxe and the product is super high quality. With this trio you could keep one lippie for yourself and gift the other two (or just keep them all lol).
Gerome’s Menswear Picks
Gerome has a couple of these ALLSAINTS polos and he looks great in them. They have a nice silhouette that fits Gerome really well and accentuates his nice arms :) The quality of the fabric has also held up really well with many wears.
I jokingly & lovingly call these jackets “dad jackets” but of course Gerome looks wonderful in them. It’s the perfect outerwear piece for those in-between weather moments where you don’t quite need a full coat but a sweater isn’t going to cut it.
That’s it for my 2019 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Guide! I hope you enjoyed browsing through my (and Gerome’s) sale picks :) Please comment your #nsale picks below — I’m super curious (and might want to add your finds to my cart as well)!
