casual spring outfit | high-neck top & sperry top-sider loafers
Hi guys, sorry I haven’t posted in a while! I’ve been pretty busy with work, life, and turning 22 (birthday post coming soon!) so I haven’t been able to sit down and work on my blog. Here’s a quick little outfit post to tide you guys over while I work on some new content. It’s finally feeling like spring here in Boston with temperatures in the 60s and 70s so I thought I’d share with you a cute and casual spring outfit that I wore a few weekends ago. Keep reading for the outfit details plus similar pieces that can work seamlessly into your spring wardrobe!
Before exploring and taking outfit photos at Lovejoy Wharf (where Converse’s headquarters are), Gerome and I had brunch at The Friendly Toast in Back Bay. It was a very retro and eclectic environment with an intriguing menu. I ordered a Babe Benny and Gerome ordered a variation of corned beef hash (eggs benedict and corned beef hash are our go-to brunch orders). The dishes were pretty offbeat versions of our favorite brunch foods (Gerome’s fries weren’t even potatoes, which confused him) so it was a very different brunch experience. It was weird, but I think we may still give this place another try.
Questionably made eggs benedict and fries made out of not-potatoes
Once we were all fed, we ventured to Lovejoy Wharf to check out the Converse flagship store at Converse headquarters. Below is me running to get my bag from a bench - I look like a small child but I thought my hair looked nice. This day was a pretty breezy spring day so I topped my outfit with my beloved Burberry coat, but I took it on and off as the temperature fluctuated. When you live in a place like Boston, even the warmest days can surprise you with a chilly few hours so you always have to be prepared with a jacket or cardigan.
My outfit consisted of a simple white Forever 21 high neck top with a pleat down the front. I had been on a mission to find a cute spring top that wasn’t cropped - as much as I love crop tops, they’re hard to wear for work. This outfit is work appropriate and is still something cute to wear on the weekend. I paired the top with Levi’s jeans I already had and my new Sperry loafers. Sperry loafers are the perfect shoes since they go with so many different spring outfits and they’re very comfortable - perfect for long walks on nice spring days. I also have on new sunglasses - I’ve been really feeling the aviator silhouette lately.
