Monday & Macarons

Hey guys, happy Monday! I’ve been back in Boston for a few weeks now but I want to let everyone know that I’m taking a leave from school this semester (or year) to sort out some personal things. It’s been refreshing being on campus and seeing people and doing things without attending classes but I’m excited to have more time to focus on this blog and figure out my life during my leave from university.   It’s the beginning of an interesting year of traveling, reflecting, and learning. It’s always important to breathe and take a break every once in a while. After the blizzard passes I’ll be back in Philadelphia for a few weeks and then back to Boston again to meet with photographers for my blog (if you’d like to shoot for this blog, just send me an email ). While I’ve been in Boston some fun things have happened - I caught up with friends (lots of food was consumed in this process) and of course went shopping (more about that in upcoming posts). But probably the most exciting day was celebrating one year with my boyfriend, Gerome.   To celebrate, I made him some gifts that I hope he’ll always cherish but his gifts were still cuter than mine. He gave me the Kate Spade Cedar Street Monday cross-body bag in the color rosy dawn. It’s the perfect size to hold my phone, some cash, three cards, and a lippie or two. He also gave me a box of macarons, which are my absolute favorite. They were from SwissBakers and were as yummy as they were pretty.        For lunch we went to the Top of the Hub in the Prudential Center. I loved the food and the view. I’ve only been there at night but the view of Boston we got during the day was spectacular. For dinner we went to the restaurant where we had our first date - The Daily Catch in the North End. We finished off the night with a cannoli from Mike’s Pastry . The sweetest thing that happened that day was probably my boyfriend wearing a shawl collar cardigan on our date. That’s my favorite kind of sweater but he hates both shawl collars and cardigans so it was probably the first and last time he’ll wear one. But it was sartorial bliss while it lasted. It was a great way to spend our one year and I’m thankful for all the time I’ve gotten to spend with my best friend and boyfriend. Thanks for reading! Come back soon for more updates on my life, where I am, what I’m eating, and most importantly, what I’m wearing. What have you guys been doing this month? Let me know in the comments!
