October Favorites

I’ve never done a monthly favorites post before but since I want to talk about a lot of different things in this post and it’s the beginning of #RedCup Season (first week of November = Christmastime for those who don’t speak Starbucks), I decided to go ahead and make this about some of my favorite things from October. Keep reading for outfit details and fashion and beauty favorites!

October was a pretty lovely month of Pumpkin Spice Lattes and sweater weather. The fluctuating temperatures have been rough for this girl since I have an allergy to the cold (cold urticaria - google it if you don’t believe me) but I also love the ability to layer. On a particularly warm day I was able to get away with just a dress and a cardigan which was nice, and I used the opportunity to go play in Beacon Hill. With its pretty architecture, I like to imagine that I’m going to live there one day, even though I’m more of a high-rise building kind of girl. Acorn Street is my (and everyone else’s) favorite street in Beacon Hill!

Free People Voile and Lace Trapeze Slip in Blossom Combo • $88

Levi’s Cardigan • similar

Kate Spade New York Cedar Street Monday Crossbody • $148

Dr. Martens ‘1460 W’ Boot • $134.95

Excuse the face I’m making - I’m probably just being awkward because of the tourists who were also taking photos in Acorn Street. The dress I’m wearing is a new favorite because it’s from Free People’s intimates section and therefore very light and comfy. Taller girls can get away with wearing it with leggings or pants but for me it’s a very fun and casual dress. My Levi’s cardigan is my favorite grandma cardigan since I sized up to a small for the perfect slouchy look. My Kate Spade crossbody and Dr. Martens are two of my favorite things of the year and usually one or the other or both make it into my daily outfits.

Fashion Favorites

Givenchy Antigona Mini Leather Satchel Bag • $1750

Stuart Weitzman ‘Lowland’ Over the Knee Boot in Londra Suede • $798

Paige Denim Lorena Suede Panel Pants • $795

Vince Drape Collar Coat in Orchid • $675

These are all things I aspired to own in my wardrobe last month after seeing them around while shopping or on Instagram. The Givenchy Antigona is a bag I’ve wanted for a while and I’ve now seen a couple people with the mini version and now I’m even more in love. Suede has been having a serious moment this season and last month I drooled quite a lot over the suede Paige pants and the suede Stuart Weitzman boots. Paige is one of my favorite denim brands and as you’ve seen in a previous post I’m obsessed with Stuart Weitzman. I have also seriously debated the Vince coat each time I’ve passed by it in the store so if you know of a more affordable alternative please link it to me in the comments!

Beauty Favorites

Olay Active Botanicals Refreshing Gel Cleanser • $5.99

Prada Candy Florale Eau de Toilette Gift Set • $94

Tarte Opening Act Lash Primer • $22

Hask Keratin Protein Smoothing Shampoo & Conditioner • $12.99

I haven’t gone too crazy with getting beauty things this month but I do have a couple faves. I got the Olay cleanser in my Influenster Homecoming VoxBox and fell in love with it. I use it when I’m not using my Clinique Liquid Facial Soap and it makes my skin feel just as nice. I actually got the Prada Candy Florale gift set for myself months ago for my 21st birthday and have worn it almost every day since but it’s a favorite now because there isn’t much left anymore and I’m cherishing every last sweet and floral drop. Tarte’s lash primer is one of those things you don’t think you need until you try it and then you’re hooked for life. It makes my lashes look so much longer and fuller and makes my mascara last so much longer. Hask recently sent me their full keratin protein oil hair care set and it is fabulous. I haven’t seen its full effects yet but its honestly a favorite just because of the immediate soft feeling and floral scent that it gives my hair.
