valentine's day gift guide 2018

Excuse this super late 'first post of 2018,' but I've had a pretty lackluster start to 2018. While I had a lovely holiday season with my family, 2018 has been pretty meh so far. I think the high point so far this year was my 4th anniversary with Gerome (love you babe) but other than that, work has been super stressful, my sister currently has the flu, and adulting has just been feeling overwhelming all around. Of course, one thing that always cheers me up is online shopping (or just browsing lol)! Gerome and I aren't doing gifts for this Valentine's Day but through all my online browsing, I've come up with a couple of ideas for gifts you can give your special someone this Valentine's Day - whether they're your significant other or just someone you want to make feel loved. As with all my gift guides, you can also use this as a way to #treatyoself - you deserve it girl, especially if you've had a blah start to the year like I have. Happy Valentine's shopping! 💘

wooden watches by jord

There’s nothing more timeless than a watch. These days, we’re always grasping for our phones to check the time, when it could be as simple as checking a beautiful and practical accessory on your wrist. Personally, I’m a watch person and don’t really switch watches ever - I find comfort in wearing the same pieces of jewelry every day. However, I did add a new watch to my collection recently - and it's a wooden watch - from the brand Jord. Keep reading to find out more about Jord and what I think about their wooden watches.

off the shoulder obsession

No matter how hard I try, I can't get over off-the-shoulder tops. During spring, I especially like wearing long-sleeve off-the-shoulder tops since they keep most of you warm but still let you feel the sun. This post showcases one of my recent favorite outfits, with the highlight piece being one of my new off-the-shoulder tops. Keep reading until the end for my full outfit detail links and some other off-the-shoulder tops I'm loving for spring and summer! Enjoy the post 😘

last minute halloween costumes with new clothes you'll actually want to keep

This post is as much for me as it is for you since I'm still in the middle of a never ending brainstorm about what I should be for Halloween. I've been posting every Monday on this blog so far, but I thought I would throw in a bonus Thursday post since I'm sure there are plenty of other people out there struggling to think of a costume right this very second. The way I approach Halloween is to put together costumes from actual clothing pieces I have in my closet or I shop for them with the goal of getting pieces I can wear post-Halloween after deconstructing the costumes. In this post I've put together a couple of Halloween costume ideas with pieces you can buy now, wear on Halloween, and then save in your wardrobe for more outfits to come. Happy Halloween shopping!

turtleneck sweaters + pleated skirts

Hi everyone, I hope you're having an amazing start to the week! I'm back with a little outfit and autumn appreciation post here. Last week I was out shopping for some Halloween crafting supplies (hit up the dollar store for the first time in forever and was amazed at how many things one can purchase for just a dollar) and found a pretty mural in Allston so I decided to take some outfit photos in front of it. I love turtlenecks (which is a recent development since up until last fall I did not like them much at all) and pleated skirts so I thought I'd show it off to you guys as one of my favorite outfit combos for this season. Since all of the items I'm wearing have been in my wardrobe for a while now, I also linked some of my favorite turtlenecks, skirts, and other fall wardrobe pieces that you can buy now throughout this post!

fall fruit picking at tougas family farm

Hi everyone, hope you had a lovely fall weekend! I love fall even though I spend the vast majority of the season being sick - but being sick doesn't really stop me from doing all the fall things I love. Last week on Indigenous Peoples Day, Gerome and I went to Tougas Family Farm to go apple and pumpkin picking. It was a lot of fun and I probably ate my body weight in apples that day (as an attempt to stay healthy, of course). Keep reading to see photos from our fruit picking excursion, including details on what I wore plus some more casual fall outfit ideas if you want to look cute and not blend into the flannel-wearing masses at whatever farm you plan on visiting.
